How To Apply
The application process has two stages:
Confirm your eligibility by:
- Complete your common application on AwardSpring. You will find a tile to access the AwardSpring system on your Mosaic home page. For more information AwardSpring, please visit the AwardSpring website.
- Contacting Ricki Wellstead in Aid & Awards, wellster@mcmaster.ca, to request written confirmation of your eligibility (e.g., by e-mail), which you will include with your application (see below). Note: If you are receiving OSAP, this will suffice to confirm your eligibility. If you are not receiving OSAP, you will be asked to provide supporting documentation when completing your AwardSpring application).
Please submit the following via email to the Department of Religious Studies at askrs@mcmaster.ca. While there is a rolling application process with no set deadline, applications should be submitted at least two months prior to your proposed term of study at Hebrew University.
- Application form (attached below).
- 500–1000-word statement of a plan of study.
- Letter of recommendation from a professor with whom you have studied.
- Current course transcripts.
- Confirmation from SFAS about your eligibility for the Freeman Bursary (see step 1 above).
Terms and Conditions:
You must consult with the Department about any changes to the program of study or timing of the stay specified in your application. If changes to the program of study to be funded by the bursary are not approved by the Department, you will risk forfeiting the award. available by direct application to the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University.
