Topics in Early Christian Literature: - The Septuagint: Greek and Other Versions of Daniel
In this seminar, we will explore together the book of Daniel in its earliest versions, focused especially on comparing the Greek versions with others. The goals will be to gain a thorough understanding of how this important biblical book took shape in the Second Temple period, to investigate how it was received in early Judaism and Christianity, and to practice Greek, Aramaic, Hebrew, and other relevant languages as background training allows. Attention will also be given to the Daniel-related materials found among the Dead Sea Scrolls.
