The Lives of Objects

Author talk by Dr. Maia Kotrosits will discuss The Lives of Objects: Material Culture, Experience, and the Real in the History of Early Christianity

Feb 26, 2020

Join the Department of Religious Studies on Monday March 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm in University Hall for our guest speaker Dr. Maia Kotrosits, Denison University.

Dr. Kotrosits will be speaking to us about her new book The Lives of Objects: Material Culture, Experience, and the Real in the History of Early Christianity (The University of Chicago Press 2020). https://www.press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/L/bo50700360.html

The book invites scholars to think about what we mean by “material culture”. It also makes arguments about Christianity in the first centuries, and focuses in particular on martyrdom.

All are welcome!
